State-owned Engineers India Ltd (EIL) today said that it has won a contract for a 400,000 barrels per day refinery-cum-petrochemical complex in Nigeria.
Nigeria’s Dangote Group has awarded the project management consultancy (PMC) and engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contract for implementing a grassroot 400,000 bpd (20 million tonnes) oil refinery and 600,000 tonnes polypropylene plant, the company said in a statement.
The contract, worth $139 million, is “the largest ever single consultancy assignment for EIL”, it added.
EIL shall render PMC, including EPCM and commissioning services for the project.
The main facilities of the project comprise crude distillation unit, single train residue fluid catalytic cracking unit, diesel hydrotreating unit, CCR unit, alkylation unit, polypropylene unit etc, utilities and offsites, including captive power with other enabling infrastructure facilities.
Crude and product handing facilities through single point mooring (SPM) would also be integrated with the refinery, the statement said.
EIL is India’s engineering, procurement, construction and total solutions consultancy organisation in the field of petroleum refining, petrochemicals, pipelines, oil & gas terminals & storages, fertilisers, mining & metallurgy and infrastructure projects.
The company is also working in diversified areas of water & waste management and has made inroads into the areas of nuclear, solar & thermal power.
EIL has successfully expanded its operations internationally, and has provided a wide range of engineering consultancy services on various international projects, including in West Asia, North Africa and South East Asia.
