State-owned Engineers India Ltd has bagged a consultancy service contract from Cairn Energy India Pty Ltd for its enhanced oil recovery project for Mangala oilfield in the prolific Rajasthan block.
EIL has been asked to do the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) for the Mangala Polymer Project, the company said in a press statement here.
“The project involves setting up of additional surface facilities for 15 existing well pads with associated pipelines and infrastructure facilities for the development of a polymer flood at Mangala (oilfield) for enhanced crude oil recovery,” it said.
EIL did not provide the value of the contract and other details.
The project is of strategic importance to EIL as polymer-based enhanced oil recovery technology is being implemented in India for the first time.
EIL is an engineering consultancy company & EPC contractor in the fields of petroleum refining, petrochemicals, pipelines, oil & gas terminal & storages, mining & metallurgy and infrastructure projects.
It has diversified into newer areas such as nuclear, solar & thermal power, water & solid waste management, city gas distribution and fertilisers.
