Besides expanding its product portfolio, digital imaging and printing solutions major Epson is targeting the home segment to grow.
“The home segment will be our focus area for our range of printers and home projectors. On the corporate side, we see huge opportunity in the education segment, banking, finance and insurance industry and the pharmaceutical sector to name a few,’ Epson India’s Deputy General Manager (Consumer Products), S. M. Ram Prasad, said.
Portable label printing, robotics and factory automation, short-run label printing and textile printing solutions are some of the areas that Epson is getting into, he said.
Spotting a photo printing device, Prasad said that it was one of the early roll-out that was and is still popular in rural India.
According to Ram Prasad, Epson India leads in the dot-matrix printer and POS (Point of Sale) machine space with a market share of around 60 per cent.
Speaking on the sidelines of an event to mark its nSolution partner engagement programme in Coimbatore, he said this annual event/roadshow, was targeted at system integrators, corporate resellers and office automation partners, to showcase Epson’s new launches.
Epson plans to cover 16 cities across India with this programme and reach out to around 1,500 potential and current partners.
At the nSolution programme, the company showcased products such as its L series printers (with refillable external ink tanks), K series mono inkjet printers, a slew of new projector models including 3D projectors, Apple docking projectors, ultra-portable projectors and large venue, high lumens projectors.
The company, which clocked a turnover of Rs 603 cr in 2011-12, is expecting to grow by 20-25 per cent this fiscal.
