Media and entertainment firm Eros International Media Ltd today said it will digitise a collection of over 1,000 films across languages.

The firm is setting up an in-house ‘digital asset management’ platform and has tied up with digital content services group Prime Focus Technologies (PFT) to administer the same, Eros International Media Ltd said in a statement.

“The digital asset management platform will help us to continuously monetise our assets and enable cost effective optimisation of media asset management, thus facilitating faster introduction of new products and services in the market,” company’s Chief Digital Officer Mr Rajesh Bahl said in the statement.

It would further help in meeting the increasing demand for content across all digital platforms, he added.

The statement, however, did not specify how much the company will invest on the project.

Commenting on the tie-up, Prime Focus Technologies President and CEO Mr Ramki Sankaranarayanan said: “Eros International is a visionary company which is considering innovative ways to bring content to consumers.”

Mumbai-based Prime Focus Technologies, a part of Prime Focus Group, provides digital content services platform to organisation dealing in content and with to exploit it across platforms.

The company works with content creators such as Doordarshan, Star TV, IPL, BCCI, Universal, Sony, BBC and HBO.

While shares of Eros International closed today at Rs 145.75, down 1.49 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange, shares of Prime Focus closed at Rs 63.75 apiece, down 2.82 per cent from its previous close.
