Tractor and agricultural machinery manufacturers Escorts today said it is doubling the capacity of its Rudrapur plant.
“We are expanding our Rudarpur plant and would double its production capacity. The entire work would be over by next nine months,” Escorts Ltd CEO, Lalit Kumar Pahwa said.
However, he did not revealed the amount which Escorts is investing in the plant for expansion.
Escorts manufactures shock absorbers and struts at Rudarpur at Udham Singh Nagar in Uttrakhand. The installed capacity is to manufacture 1.5 lakhs shock absorbers per month and it would be expanded up to 5,00,000 numbers per month.
The company has manufactured 67,000 tractors from its Faridabad for the financial year ended September 31, 2013.
Pahwa further said that the company was also searching for new markets globally.
“We have started exporting our tractors to Australia. We are exploring new markets,” he said on the sidelines of a seminar organised by the industry body CII in the city.
The company exports its tractors to European markets and Latin America.
