Escorts wins 1-year Govt contract for tractor supply

Escorts' agri-machinery arm has entered into a one-year rate contract with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for supplying tractors to Central and State-level agencies.

The Faridabad-based company has tied up with the Directorate-General of Supplies and Disposal, under the Commerce Ministry. It will supply tractors from both its Powertrac and Farmtrac brands on pre-approved prices directly without going for any tendering process.

“We strongly believe that farm mechanisation holds the key to greater food security. We are today privileged to support State and Central Government's effort by bringing world-class market-mapped tractors at a price that is competitive,” Mr S. Sridhar, Chief Executive Officer, Escorts Agri Machinery, said.

Escorts' range of tractors are designed for both agricultural and commercial applications and are compatible with a number of implements such as rotavator, cultivator, thrasher, reaper, baler and seed drills.

Over a million tractors have been sold till date, with the annual production capacity touching 98,940 units across its plants near Delhi.
