Essar Oil Ltd on Monday announced to its shareholders at the Annual General Meeting that it had recorded its highest ever EBITDA, PAT (profit after tax) and Gross Refining Margins for the fiscal 2015-16, the company said in a media statement.
For the fiscal 2015-16, the company achieved its highest ever EBIDTA of ₹7,773 crore, which was 35 per cent higher than the previous year. In fiscal 2014-15, EBIDTA was ₹5,761 crore. PAT was also at a new high of ₹2,162 crore, a rise of 42 per cent from fiscal 2014-15 number of ₹1,521 crore.
For the year under consideration, the total throughput of the refinery stood at 19.1 MMT (million metric tonnes), compared with 20.49 MMT in the previous year. The lower throughput during the year was on account of the planned 28-day shut-down undertaken during the September-October period, the statement said.
For fiscal 2015-16, Essar Oil clocked a record high current price Gross Refining Margin (CP-GRM) of $10.81 per barrel, compared with $8.37 in the previous year, the statement added.
