Essar Projects Ltd on Thursday announced the completion of Rs 1,064 crore D1 development project for ONGC.
The project has been implemented at D1 offshore oil fields, which are located 200 km from Mumbai’s coast.
It will scale up the D1 field production to 35,000 BOPD (barrels of oil per day) from current production of 12,400 BOPD.
The President and CEO of Essar Projects, Mr Alwyn Bowden, in a press statement said executing the project on schedule was a strategic objective. Now the company is poised to execute similar projects worldwide.
The project involved installation of three offshore platforms and laying of sub-sea pipelines to connect the three platforms to the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
The D1B platform will receive the 35,000-BOPD of crude produced by the D1, D1C and D1D platforms and this will then be transferred for processing to the D1 field FPSO, the statement said.
The project was awarded by ONGC to Essar in May 2010.
