Dubai-headquartered Essar Projects Ltd has won a contract valued at more than Rs 550 crore from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, increasing its total order book to about $4.1 billion.
The company has won the contract in a consortium with GR Engineering of Mumbai for the engineering, procurement and construction of the reactor regenerator package of 2.2 MMTPA Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit at the Kochi refinery, which is set to expand to 15.5 MMTPA.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 24 months, the company said in a statement.
The scope of work and obligations comprise project management, residual process design, residual engineering of reactor regenerator, procurement and supply of all materials among others.
BPCL–Kochi is in the process of expanding the refinery facilities from 9.5 to 15.5 MMTPA as part of the Integrated Refinery Expansion Project for which Engineers India Ltd has been appointed as project management consultant.
With this the total number of major projects secured by Essar Projects (both domestic and overseas) has increased to eight. Essar Projects has been executing various hydrocarbon projects for major companies such as IOCL, Jurong Aeromatics and Matix fertilisers among others.
