Eveready Industries India on Thursday announced a hike in price of its batteries effective from April.
According to Deepak Khaitan, Vice-Chairman, a continuous upward trend in cost of materials and overhead expenses have adversely impacted the cost of batteries.
Eveready is currently the market leader in dry cell batteries and sales around 1.2 billion units annually.
It also markets flash-lights, rechargeable devices and lanterns, CFL and GFL lamps and packet tea.
