Mahindra & Mahindra today reported a 21 per cent increase in total sales at 41,590 vehicles in November.
The company had sold 34,292 units in the same month last year, M&M said in a statement.
In the domestic market, its sales were up by 23 per cent at 39,383 units last month against 32,100 in November last year.
Exports were up 1 per cent at 2,207 units as against 2,192 in the same period a year ago.
Sales of passenger vehicles, including Scorpio, XUV 500, Xylo, Bolero and Verito, stood at 19,662 compared with 14,473 in November 2014, up 36 per cent.
Commercial vehicle sales grew 17 per cent to 14,801 units last month from 12,622 in the year-ago period, M&M said.
“The festive season, coupled with new product launches as well as moderation in interest rates, has seen the auto industry post a positive growth during the last couple of months,” M&M Chief Executive (automotive division) Pravin Shah said.
The speedy implementation of GST will have a long-term impact on the competitiveness of Indian auto industry, he added.
Ashok Leyland
Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok Leyland today reported 16 per cent increase in total sales at 8,971 units in November against 7,732 units in the same month last year.
Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles jumped 21 per cent to 6,297 units in November from5,204 units in the same month a year ago, the company said in a BSE filing.
Light commercial vehicles sales also increased by 6 per cent to 2,674 units compared with 2,528 units in November last year.
Escorts
Engineering and farm equipment major Escorts today reported 9.3 per cent increase in its tractor sales in November at 4,706 units.
It had sold 4,306 units in the same month last year.
Domestic sales during the month were up 12.2 per cent at 4,691 units compared with 4,181 in November last year, the company said in a BSE filing.
The company said its exports in November this year were down 88 per cent at 15 units against 125 in the year-ago period.
Royal Enfield
Royal Enfield today reported 48 per cent jump in total motorcycle sales to 40,769 units in November against 27,542 units sold in the same month last year.
Domestic sales of the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker stood at 40,312 units during the month against 27,198 units in the same month of 2014, a jump of 48.21 per cent.
Royal Enfield’s sales of motorcycle with engine capacity of up to 350 cc rose 52 per cent to 37,455 units compared with 24,610 units in November 2014.
Sales of motorcycle with engine capacity exceeding 350 cc stood at 3,314 units against 2,932 units in same month a year ago, an increase of 13 per cent.
Exports of Royal Enfield were at 457 units during the month against 344 units in November last year.
