Auto major Fiat has kick-started its ‘Emozione Italiana’ culture week at Koregaon Park in Pune. The design contest, which will be on till February 22, is aimed at students studying automobiles or design in Pune.

“The culture week aims to create awareness about the reality of the automotive environment in Italy, as also to tap into the existing talent among the Indian student community,” said a company executive. The event is taking place in Pune as the city is considered the automobile capital city of India, like Turin for Italy.

“Pune is a centre for education. While Fiat has a factory in Pune, we also have our people in training. We thought this was the best place to host such an event to explore talent. Incidentally, the event is happening for the first time in the country,” said the official. Students from reputed colleges such as the DYPDC Center for Automotive Research and Studies, Pune, DSK International, Pune, and the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, will participate in the event.
