Ford India has reported an 8.44 per cent jump in its June sales at 9,145 units, mainly on the back of its small car Figo’s numbers.
The company had sold 8,433 units in the same month last year, Ford India said in a statement.
During the month, the company delivered the 1,00,000th Figo since its launch 15 months ago, it added.
“Due to continued strong sales of the Figo, the last 15 months have been very successful in this hugely competitive market. We are extremely proud to have crossed the 1,00,000 sales milestone,” the Ford India President and Managing Director, Mr Michael Boneham, said.
The company is at present working with its suppliers to remove capacity constraints and meet the increasing demand for Ford vehicles.
“Our manufacturing team is working hard to meet the dramatic increase in Figo exports as well as to keep up with domestic sales growth,” Mr Boneham said.
Apart from Figo, the company sells models such as the Ikon, Fiesta and Endeavour in India.
