A fire broke out at the paint shop of TVS Motor’s plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday early morning.
“An accidental fire broke out at 5:00 a.m. at TVS Motor Company’s Plant I at the factory premises in Hosur in which mopeds are manufactured. The fire was brought under control and no one sustained any injuries. Alternate arrangements have been made to ensure that production continues unhampered,” said the company in a statement.
There has been no hindrance to production at the plant, said Cecil Dewars, Senior Vice-President, Corporate Communications. “We have adequate spare capacity. Operations at the paint shop will be relocated to our other plants,” said Dewars.
The plant has been adequately insured, said the company in a notice to the stock exchange.
“The extent of damage and possibility of restoring the damaged unit to normalcy as early as possible are being assessed,” said the notice.
