Rama Rao said there’s a need to create a readily employable workforce in the interest of the industry, the unemployed, and the government.

“A model like that will help the youth get refined employment opportunities,” he said and also asked the company to create a fulfillment centre involving women’s self-help groups.

“Flipkart’s new facility will strengthen pan-India market access for local sellers,” Rao added.

The company has six fulfillment centres and about 100 distribution hubs in the State. It works with 5,000 Kirana stores. Overall, the company has 100 fulfillment centres and mother hubs across the country.

“Kirana stores are playing a key role in the delivery of the consignments. About 30 per cent of deliveries are happening through kiranas,” Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Flipkart Group, said.
