Car maker Ford India today reported 22.46 per cent decline in total sales in May this year at 5,993 units.
The company had sold a total of 7,729 units in the same month last year, Ford India said in a statement.
Domestic sales also went down by 33.69 per cent to 4,002 units in May this year as against 6,036 units in the same month last year, it added.
The company exported 1,991 units last month compared to 1,693 units in the year-ago period, registering a growth of 17.6 per cent.
Commenting on the sales performance, Anurag Mehrotra, Vice President (Sales), Ford India said: “Despite the difficult industry situation we are confident of the long-term potential of the Indian market. Stronger export sales are a clear sign that our One Ford plan is working with more products that consumers want and value.”
