Unfazed by his bitter experience with pen maker Montblanc, former cricketer-turned-entrepreneur Dilip Doshi is entering the retail space again to distribute two premium European brands Kahla and Greggio in India.

Doshi’s firm Entrack will distribute the two brands — Kahla porcelain and Greggio designer silverware. “We are looking to have 10 stores for the brands in the next three years. Initially, the two brands will be retailed through our boutique in Mumbai,” Doshi told BusinessLine .

He said the company may also look at selling the brands in the e-commerce platform after firmly establishing the brick and mortar format.

Asked if the company would retail the same through shop-in-shops of departmental chains, he said currently he was only looking to sell through Entrack’s own outlets.

Kahla and Greggio products are priced at a range from ₹600 to over a few lakhs.

Doshi also said that he was in talks with players in the accessories space in the premium category. “We will be announcing a couple of exclusive deals in the accessories space soon,” he said.

Doshi’s firm Entrack had earlier been instrumental in getting Mont Blanc pens to India until the two companies parted ways with the former cricketer taking the pen maker to court.

Asked about the current status of his dispute with Montblanc, Doshi said the case was currently under arbitration in the Swiss Tribunal in Geneva.

The dispute between Doshi and Montblanc Simplo GMBH arose after the pen maker terminated its contract with Entrack. Doshi’s firm had worked with Montblanc for close to 25 years and was responsible for the brand’s presence in India and retail expansion. In 2013, Montblanc announced a joint venture with Tata-owned Titan to market and sell its products in India.

Following that, Doshi initiated a legal action against the international brand accusing it of flouting the contractual agreement.
