Fortis Healthcare has reported a 41.34 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 41.54 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 29.39 crore in the same period last year, Fortis Healthcare said in a filing to the BSE.
Total income rose to Rs 1,279.1 crore in January-March quarter of the 2011-12 fiscal from Rs 421.18 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
For the year ended March 31, 2012, the consolidated net profit, however, slipped to Rs 72.22 crore from Rs 124.33 crore in 2010-11.
On a standalone basis, the net profit increased to Rs 184.98 crore in the January-March quarter of 2011-12 fiscal from Rs 33.82 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
Meanwhile, in a separate filing, the company announced the appointment of Mr Pradeep Ratilal Raniga and Mr Joji Sekhon Gill as additional directors.
The board also granted an in-principal approval for the future listing of the company’s clinical establishment division on Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd (SGX-ST) and it will be seeking shareholders’ approval for it.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 104.25, up 2.91 per cent on the BSE at 11.30 am.
