Fortis Healthcare has registered a slowdown in profit during the first quarter of this fiscal. The company’s consolidated net profit dipped 10 per cent during the quarter ended June 30, 2017, at ₹22.61 crore compared with ₹25.26 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.
The healthcare giant, however, recorded a 5 per cent increase in total income at ₹1,214.22 crore.
In a statement Bhavdeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said: “We have had an encouraging start to the year with an improvement in our financials and a healthy growth in our operating profitability. In the subsequent quarters, we believe we will witness additional gains as we reinforce our efforts and initiatives across all regions.”
Fortis currently has a net debt of ₹1,216 crore.
On Friday, the company’s scrip closed 1.37 per cent higher at ₹165.95 on the BSE.
