Fortis Healthcare Ltd on Monday launched its next generation hospital, the ‘Fortis Memorial Research Institute (Fortis Memorial), which is expected to open with full functions by January in Gurgaon.
Started construction in 2008-end, the company has invested Rs 450 crore in building the 450 beds hospital, which could be ramped up to 1,000 beds facility.
"A comprehensive institute, it is aimed at delivering cutting edge medicine in line with the best in the West. No effort has been spared and every conceivable detail looked into, in the setting up of this next generation hospital, positioned as the healthcare destination facility, in Asia," Malvinder Singh, Executive Chairman, Fortis Healthcare Ltd, said.
The company would spend another Rs 160 crore on expansions, mainly for increasing the number of beds in the second phase, which is expected to start in next three-four years, Vishal Bali, Chief Executive Officer, Fortis Healthcare, said.
The new hospital will have facilities such as 3 T Digital MRI, 256 Slice CT Scan, Advanced Brain Suite, Cath-Lab, Digital Mammography, e-ICU and Fibre Scan, he said.
