Canadian luxury hotel chain Four Seasons expects to have five to six hotels operational under management contracts in India by 2020.
The company already has a hotel in operation in Mumbai. In Delhi, its branded private residences were launched on Wednesday, under a strategic partnership with real estate developer The 3C Company. The hotel, in partnership with the company, is also expected to be operational by 2016.
Scouting for locations
Chris Hart, President, Hotel Operation, Asia-Pacific, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, said the company had an agreement for hotels in Goa and Bangalore and was looking at locations such as Hyderabad, Jaipur and Kerala for future expansion.
“The Indian hospitality industry has a great history of service. As outbound travellers from India increase, we would want them to stay at our hotels across the globe. So, we need to grow our brand presence. India is strategically important for us to grow our hotels in the region for the long term,” Hart said.
branded residences
The company expects to have more Four Seasons private branded residences at other locations, such as Mumbai and Bangalore. Hart said there was growing demand for branded private residences as high-end home purchasers look for certainty and quality of services. He said at present nearly 27 out of the 92 hotel properties had residential private residences.
