Global hospitality major Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts today said it is looking to expand presence in India and is expecting to sign three-four new hotel projects in the country over the next five years.
Four Seasons has currently 85 hotels across the world. In India, it has one operational hotel in Mumbai and one under-construction in Bangalore.
The company today tied up with realty firm The 3C Company to operate the latter's five-star hotel in Noida with 250 rooms.
“India is an important market for us and it will become more important in the coming years. We are looking to come up with hotel resorts at Rajasthan, Kerala and Goa,” the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Vice-President (Development) Asia-Pacific, Mr Christopher Wong, told reporters here.
Besides these resort destinations, the company might look at proposals for managing a hotel in Gurgaon.
He said the company is in advance stage of talks for the management contract of a resort in Goa and expects the deal to be signed in the 2011 calendar year.
When asked about the company's expansion plan in India over the next five years, Mr Wong said: “We will be operating three-four hotels in the next five years and expect to sign three-four new hospitality projects by then”.
The hotel projects at Bangalore and Noida are expected to be operational by 2014, while the company expects that one resort would also be opened for public.
