Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd (GACL) on Saturday reported a 54 per cent increase in net profit and 7 per cent increase in sales for the fiscal ended March 31, 2013, compared to the corresponding period last fiscal.
While the sales stood at Rs 1,993 crore (Rs 1,863 crore), the profit-after-tax stood at Rs 235 crore (Rs 153 crore), despite challenging market conditions, Varesh Sinha, Chairman, said in a statement here.
With the company recently commissioning a 10.5 megawatt wind farm, GACL’s total installed wind power capacity has increased to 104.75 MW. Another 10.5-MW wind farm will be commissioned soon.
