The Vadodara-based Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd (GACL) on Saturday said its turnover increased by about five per cent and net profit by 19 per cent in the first quarter ended June 30 compared with the corresponding period last fiscal. In a statement here, M.S. Dagur, Managing Director, said while the turnover was Rs 438.51 crore (Rs 418.05 crore), an increase of 4.89 per cent, profit after tax (PAT) increased by 19.11 per cent to Rs 55.27 crore (Rs 46.40 crore). On Friday, GACL’s share price on the BSE closed 0.20 per cent down at Rs 124.75.
