The State-run Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd (GACL) on Wednesday announced a net profit of Rs 96.31 crore for the quarter ended March 2015, up 49 per cent from Rs 64.72 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company's net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 488 crore as against Rs 499 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
For the financial year ended March 2015, company's net profit stood at Rs 228 crore as against Rs 185 crore in the previous year. The company reported historically its highest net sales of Rs 1,932 crore for the year ended March 31, 2015, as against Rs 1,883 crore in the previous year.
The board of directors has recommended a dividend of 45 per cent on equity shares of Rs 10 each.
GACL's wind power generation capacities have touched 125.75 MW, while it achieved a total production of 14,99,360 tonnes of all products during the year as against 14,68,314 tonnes in the previous year.
GACL shares ended positive at Rs 169.35 up close to 3 per cent on the BSE on Wednesday.
