General Electric (GE) said on Friday that it has launched a water quality monitoring instrument in the country to help Indian drug firms comply with global regulations governing the quality of water used in their manufacturing operations.
“Sievers 860 system is tailored for pharmaceutical water testing compliance of purified water and water for injection,” GE said in a statement.
Commenting on the launch GE Power & Water President and CEO—water and process technologies, Mr Heiner Markhoff said: “With the pharmaceutical industries of India and other countries in Asia facing stricter water quality regulations, we are expanding our Sievers water quality analysis technology offerings to meet the need for ultrapure water“.
The company said that the new product offers excellent performance, value, ease of use and advanced data management software in a cost—effective manner.
