Gitanjali Group has signed an exclusive agreement to market and distribute Rotary Watches of Switzerland in India. Wristwatches from the Rotary Watches stable will be sold at a price range of Rs 12,000 to 50,000.
The 1895-born company's Rotary brand sells in 45 countries worldwide.
Mr Mehul Choksi, Chairman and Managing Director, Gitanjali Group, explained the addition to the portfolio in the context of Indian consumers increasingly becoming conscious of quality, and even more of brands.
“This association will not only enable Gitanjali to provide the best of the Swiss technology to customers, but also offers an opportunity to posses a very iconic brand,” he said.
Gitanjali has similar tie up to distribute major watch brands such as Morelatto, Philip, Sector, Just Cavalli, Marvin, Umbro, Iris, Pirelli, Nina Ricci, Miss Sixty and Roberto Cavalli.
Mr Robert Dreyfuss, Chairman, Rotary Watches, said, “India is a market that has huge potential and it certainly cannot be ignored. With the reach and brand recall Gitanjali has in India, we are confident of tapping the huge potential in India.”
