Sharjah-based Kingston Holdings has formed a joint venture with Irish multinational Glen Dimplex to launch high-end industrial ventilation systems in India.
The joint venture, Xpelair India Pvt Ltd, has introduced around 300 products including ventilation and electrical heating products. Addressing a press conference here, Lalu Samuel, CMD of Xpelair India, said the products will be initially launched in the Kerala market, followed by Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi. The company will also target Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal, apart from West Asian and African markets.
All Xpelair products are UK-made and distributed in over 80 countries. The company has been a leader in the development and manufacture of ventilation products for about 55 years, Samuel said.
He further said the Indian market for industrial ventilation systems is around Rs 100 crore. The company is looking to garner a 5 per cent market share in the first year of operations.
“We think this is as an opportunity to venture into the Indian market. The objective is to create a market first and build volumes later,” he added. Sean O’Driscoll, Chairman, Glen Dimplex, said the venture is a strategic investment in line with its global expansion plan. Founded in 1973, the company claims to be the world’s largest manufacturer of electrical heating and offers a range of low-carbon heating, cooling and ventilation products.
Kingston Holdings is the single largest investor in Sharjah’s Free Zone, with three manufacturing units producing more than 1,000 products for the electrical construction sector.
