General Motors India has reported 4.79 per cent decline in sales at 7,048 units for September 2013.
The company had sold 7,403 units in the same month of 2012, GM India said in a statement today.
Last month’s sales include 2,826 units of Beat, 1,894 units of Sail, 1,543 units of Enjoy.
Commenting on the sales performance, GM India Vice-President, P. Balendran, said: “The market continues to remain depressed due to weak economic conditions, negative market sentiments and various other factors. Although we have generated volumes for the Beat as expected, our overall sales figures are not on the expected lines as we had temporarily stopped the production and sale of Tavera.”
However, the company expects the market to show some improvement closer to the festive season, he added.
