Gujarat Minerals Development Corporation Ltd (GMDC) has reported a 30 per cent increase in net profit and 15 per cent jump in income for the financial year ended March 31, 2012.
While the company’s income was Rs 1,630.69 crore (Rs 1,421.04 crore), its net profit was Rs 486.83 crore (Rs 374.76 crore), Mr V.S. Gadhvi, Managing Director, said here in a statement.
The board of directors has also recommended a dividend of 150 per cent, i.e. Rs 3 per share.
On segment-wise basis, the mining segment accounted for almost 80 per cent of the aggregate revenue. Lignite sales registered a growth of 25 per cent and bauxite sales registered an 11.76 per cent increase with a revenue of Rs 77.59 crore.
The Akrimota Thermal Power Plant of GMDC generated 870.91 million units and generated revenues worth Rs 140.68 crore. The company’s wind power project, too, generated 146.22 million units worth Rs 52 crore, Mr Gadhvi added.
