Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) net profit rose 11 per cent to Rs 112.46 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011, against Rs 101.48 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
During the quarter, the company’s turnover jumped seven per cent to Rs 384 crore from Rs 360.40 crore.
GMDC’s foray into wind power has started generating revenues. Wind power generated 112.5 million units and total revenue generated from the sector stood at Rs 52 crore, a company statement said.
The Q-o-Q bauxite production rose 28 per cent at 2.24 lakh tonnes in the quarter ended December 31, 2011 from 1.75 lakh MT in the previous quarter ended September 30, 2011, it said.
