Mr G.M. Rao, Chairman of the GMR Group, has announced a grant of $2,50,000 to NRIVA, US, to serve the poorest of poor in India.
Mr Rao who was awarded the lifetime achievement award by NRIVA (Non-Resident Indian Vasavi Association) at its first global convention in Washington recently, made the announcement there.
According to a release from NRIVA, Mr G.M. Rao may consider further grant if the money is spent with a clear objective and fulfilling its purpose. The NRIVA was started in the US during 2007 with a theme of Connecting people across the globe.
