The first unit of GMR group’s 3x350 MW coal-based power project at Kamalanga, near Dhenkanal in Odisha (Orissa), has been synchronised with the Central grid on January 27.
The company said in a release to the exchanges that this is the group’s second coal-based power plant to be synchronised. Work on commissioning the second and third unit is also in progress.
The project has been implemented on multiple packages concept and is the first IPP in Odisha under MoU to have synchronised with the Central grid.
The project is expected to cater to the power needs of various States including Odisha.
