Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd (GNFC) registered a net loss of Rs 46 crore for the third quarter ended December 2014 against the net profit of Rs 108 crore in the same period previous year.
The company posted net sales of Rs 1,142 crore for the quarter against Rs 1,368 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year, showing a decline of 16 per cent.
Company's revenues from fertilizers segment fell by 16 per cent to Rs 575 crore (Rs 689 crore). Chemicals segment witnessed 17 per cent decline in revenues to Rs 548 crore against Rs 661 crore.
For the nine-month period, company posted net loss of Rs 126 crore against the net profit of Rs 208 crore. Net sales stood at Rs 3,449 crore for the period under review against Rs 3,522 crore in the same period previous year.
On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), GNFC shares ended marginally up at Rs 86.85 on Friday.
