Home appliances brand Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company Ltd and Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances Group (BSH), a global home appliances manufacturer, have entered into a technology collaboration to develop a new range of best-in-class, energy-efficient, refrigerators for India, Asia-Pacific, West Asia and Africa.
The collaboration brings together Godrej Appliance’s expertise in developing advanced, energy-efficient green technologies and BSH’s global experience and technological expertise in the appliances sector.
This range of highly energy-efficient refrigerators will be manufactured at Godrej’s manufacturing plant at Shirwal near Pune. The refrigerators manufactured under this collaboration will be marketed by Godrej and BSH under their respective brand names in India, Asia-Pacific, West Asia and Africa.
Jamshyd N. Godrej, CMD, Godrej & Boyce, said: “Together with BSH, we intend to create the best-in-class range of energy-efficient refrigerators that benefit consumers and also contribute to responsible and sustainable products.”
Kurt-Ludwig Gutberlet, CEO, BSH, said: “With the growth in the country’s high-income group, the demand for refrigerators and home appliances at large is expected to grow rapidly as consumers in India continue to upgrade their home appliances and lifestyles. Therefore, we have to provide them with energy-efficient appliances from the outset.”
