Godrej Consumer Products has reported a 13 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 121 crore for the first quarter.
Net sales increased 6 per cent to Rs 977 crore. EBITDA stood at Rs 147 crore for the quarter.
Hair colours registered the highest sales growth at 14 per cent despite a higher base last year.
Household insecticides grew at 9 per cent and the category was affected due to the delayed monsoons.
The soaps category de-grew during the quarter. In a statement, Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group, said, "The first quarter has been challenging. We witnessed the fourth consecutive quarter of significant slowdown in growth in the household and personal care category. However, we are optimistic that the worst is over and growth in the second half of the year should be better than the first half.’’
The board has declared an 100 per cent interim dividend on Re 1 face value share, the company said in a statement.
