Goodyear has reported 79.78 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 25.62 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013, due to slowdown in the automotive market.
The tyre maker had posted a net profit of Rs 14.25 crore in the same period previous fiscal, Goodyear said in a filing to the BSE.
The company’s income from operations increased to Rs 422.19 crore during the April-June quarter from Rs 399.89 crore during the same period last year.
Goodyear shares had closed at Rs 306.90 per scrip on the BSE yesterday, up 1.72 per cent from their previous close.
