Granules India Ltd’s consolidated net profit increased 46 per cent to Rs 16.37 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 compared with Rs 8.82 crore in the year-ago period.
Total revenue of the Hyderabad-based company increased to 168 crore from Rs 106 crore.
For the full year, the company posted a net profit of Rs 30 crore compared with Rs 21 crore in the previous year.
“The performance during 2011-12 was notable for speedy growth. The total revenue went up 38 per cent to Rs 653 crore from Rs 475 crore in the previous year,’’ Mr M. Krishna Prasad, Managing Director, Granules India, told newspersons here on Tuesday.
Growth in revenue and profits was driven by higher growth in the finished dosage segment and also addition of previous quarter’s profit by making changes in the accounting method of forex gains.
