Aditya Birla Group flagship company, Grasim Industries Ltd, today posted an eight per cent decline in net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 at Rs 809 crore (Rs 879 crore).
Net sales during the quarter rose 13 per cent to Rs 7,206 crore (Rs 6,398 crore).
For the full year ended March 31, 2012, the net profit increased by 16 per cent to Rs 2,647 crore (Rs 2,279 crore).
Net sales for the fiscal rose 17 per cent to Rs 24,988 crore (Rs 21,318 crore).
The board has also recommended a dividend of Rs 22.50 per equity share on a face value of Rs 10.
The private sector company’s business pans across cement, viscose staple fibre, chemicals and textiles sectors.
