State-run Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd informed that it has received a process patent for its Gujcon products range under Nylon-6 that will improve the quality of roads and building infrastructure.
The Patent Office, Government of India granted the patent to GSFC for the innovation as 'A Process for the preparation of Nylon 6 discrete fibres for secondary reinforcement in concrete and plaster applications.
The Nylon-6 product range includes Gujcon - CRF and Gujcon - PRF, which are specially engineered 18 millimeter and 06 millimeter length virgin Nylon-6 fibers aimed at improving the quality of road and building infrastructure in country.
The Gujcon fibers are the in-house development of GSFC and considered as breakthrough in secondary reinforcement for rendering long lasting solutions to teething troubles faced by construction and infrastructure industry. These challenges include generation of cracks, water seepage, brittleness among others.
All structures or constructions are vulnerable to these defects and Gujcon remedies all irrespective of size and scale of construction and user.
Gujcon - CRF finds application in RCC - slabs, beams, columns and lintels, pre-cast concrete, pavement, flooring, roads, bridges, airport runways and water retaining structures. Gujcon – PRF is for use in plastering work, the company informed in a statement here.
