Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited, a Hinduja Group company, has commenced the commercial production for manufacturing of lubricants oil at the newly set-up plant at Ennore near Chennai.
The installed manufacturing capacity of new plant is 50,000 KL per annum, according to a regulatory filing made to BSE.
Gulf Oil supplies a wide range of automotive and industrial lubricants, greases and two-wheeler batteries among others.
The company has direct tie-ups with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including Ashok Leyland (a Hinduja Group entity), Mahindra& Mahindra, Bajaj among others and is a leading player in the after market.
The new plant is expected to boost its market presence with a wider range of products.
