H&R Johnson plans expansion of M.P. manufacturing facility

Tile manufacturer H & R Johnson today announced its proposal to increase the capacity of its manufacturing facility at Madhya Pradesh as part of its Rs 400 crore capital expansion plans for 2013—14.

The initiative comes against the backdrop of the company’s ambitious plan to become one of the largest manufacturers and marketers of industrial ceramic tiles in the country, a company statement said.

Post expansion of its industrial tile manufacturing plant at Dewas in Madhya Pradesh, the total installed capacity of the company would reach 54 million square metre per annum, the statement added.

“The investments to enhance capacity of our industrial tiling solutions is part of our business plan to focus on high-value innovations in the industrial flooring category”, H&R Johnson (India), General Manager, Ravi Aravamuthan said.

He said once the Dewas manufacturing facility attains full capacity, it would have the potential to add about Rs 100 crore to the company’s total revenues, annually.
