A division Bench of the Kerala High Court today recused from hearing various land related cases of the Plantation company Harrisons Malayalam Ltd.
The Bench, comprising justices M Sasidharan Nambiar and P Bhavadasan, had continuously been hearing various cases since the last three months.
When the case came up today the Bench informed its decision to the counsel.
The cases will have to be heard afresh.
According to the company, its estate lands in various parts of the state, running into thousands of acres, belong to it, while the government’s contention is that large extent of government land was encroached and held by HML “unlawfully” even after expiry of the lease period.
