The Kerala Government today informed the High Court that plantation company Harrisons Malayalam Ltd had forged documents and survey maps in order to encroach on government land.
This was done with the connivance of some officials, Revenue Additional Secretary, Rajalakshmi stated in an affidavit filed in the court.
The department had initiated all proceedings against erring officials and vigilance enquiry was also being conducted, she said.
The High Court had earlier directed the government to inform it of the details regarding the action taken against erring officials.
In today’s affidavit, details of action taken as well as the number and complicity of officials has been mentioned.
The affidavit was filed in a batch of cases against HML regarding encroachment on government land by its estates spread in eight districts.
