Hindustan Construction Company has received a letter of acceptance for a Rs 289-crore contract to construct a bulk water transmission system for Gujarat Water Infrastructure Ltd, a Gujarat Government undertaking. The work involves construction of a 57-km water transmission pipeline between Dhanki and Maliya villages under the ‘Swarnim Gujarat Saurashtra-Kutch Water Grid Programme (NC-31)'. The EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract also includes commissioning and maintenance of the system for five years. The project is scheduled for completion in 12 months.
