HCC Concessions Ltd, a subsidiary of Hindustan Construction Company, has bagged a contract worth Rs 800 crore from the National Highways Authority of India for six-laning of Vadodara-Surat section of NH-8.
The project, awarded to HCC Concessions Ltd, includes construction of a new four-lane extra dosed bridge across the Narmada river in Gujarat, Hindustan Construction Company said in a statement today.
“The estimated cost of the project is approximately Rs 800 crore. The concession period for the project is 12 years, including a construction period of 30 months,” the company said, adding that the project is on a toll basis under the National Highways Development Programme-V.
The project is among the final stretches to be expanded to six-lane capacity on NH-8, which connects Delhi to Mumbai.
“This will be the seventh project in HCC Concessions’ portfolio, which includes six other NHAI concessions — one annuity and five toll-based projects,” HCC said.
For the year ended March 31, 2012, HCC had posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 530.09 and net sales of Rs 8,157.63 crore.
