Online healthcare platform HelpMeDoc is set to close its first round of funding worth $2-4 million soon, its founder Suvro Ghosh said.

The company will use this to increase brand awareness, upgrade website, launch mobile app and expand reach.

The Delhi-based company is a one-stop platform aggregating all healthcare needs ranging from booking a doctor’s appointment, payment, choosing diagnostic centres and pharmacies.

It aims to ease the hassle of medical visits by saving the waiting time at clinics.

“Once we close the Series A round, we will increase the team strength from current 10 to at least 50 people to expand in other areas,” Ghosh told BusinessLine .

The platform, which currently caters to Delhi-NCR, has over 6,500 doctors and 70 diagnostic centres. The pharmacy listings will be launched soon as well.

“Apart from Delhi, we see Punjab, Kerala, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune as emerging markets which we are keen to tap,” Ghosh added.

The company, at present, is bootstrapped with an investment close to ₹80 lakh. It earns revenue through selling software to doctors, selling patients health cards, and via discounts from diagnostic centres.

“Our four kinds of health cards target at individuals, families, corporates and senior citizens and cost between ₹1,500 and ₹3,500,” he said.

As more stakeholders hop on the platform, Ghosh said that the rating system for doctors is also expected to evolve. Another area of focus for the start-up is mental health.
