The country’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda on Friday reported 20.12 per cent jump in its sales for June at 5,12,244 units, over the same month last year.
The company had sold 4,26,454 units in the corresponding month last year, Hero Honda said in a statement.
“This is the first time the company has sold five lakh-plus units in each of the three months of a quarter...Sequentially, this is the fourth consecutive month of five lakh-plus sales for the company,” it added.
For the April-June period of this fiscal, the company saw its highest-ever quarterly sales at 15,29,577 units compared to 12,34,039 units in the same period last financial year, up 23.95 per cent.
“It has been a record-breaking first quarter of FY’12 for us. With sales of five lakh-plus units in every month of the quarter and record 1.5 million units’ total sales in the quarter, we have once again set new benchmarks for ourselves,” Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Mr Anil Dua said.
The first quarter has set the pace for the rest of the financial year and has put the company on course to surpass its target of six million sales for the fiscal, he added.
“Our recent four new launches are doing exceedingly well and we look forward to maintain our growth trajectory in the coming months,” Mr Dua said.
