Hero MotoCorp today reported a 6.61 per cent dip in sales at 5,33,305 units in April.
The company had sold 5,71,054 units in the same month last year, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.
The rural demand for automobiles has been adversely impacted by unseasonal rains witnessed in the month of March, it added.
“Poor crop realisation and a slowdown in rural wages have pulled back the rural economy, impacting retail off—takes in markets such as Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and sugarcane growing areas of Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra,” the company said.
