The country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp Ltd, on Monday reported its highest-ever sales in a month during September at 6,74,961 units, up 11 per cent, compared with 6,06,744 units in the corresponding month last year.

Hero MotoCorp’s previous highest in monthly sales was recorded in October 2015 when the company had sold 6,39,802 units.

This is the second consecutive month that the company has sold six-lakh plus units, having clocked 6,16,424 unit sales in August, and the fourth this calendar year (March – 6,06,542 and April – 6,12,739), the company said.

“The growth momentum is backed by a series of positive factors - the successful market launch of the Splendor iSmart 110 – the first motorcycle completely designed and developed in-house.’’

The company is a dominant market leader in the 100cc and 125cc segments - with more than 65 per cent and 55 per cent market share in these respective segments.

With the objective of further expanding its presence in the premium segment, Hero MotoCorp had launched the new Achiever 150 motorcycle last week. The Achiever 150 now comes with the new BS-IV compliant engine that also features the Hero’s patented i3S technology.
